Beauty is harmony!

In the modern world of high technologies, not only kings, but also permanent make-up masters “can do everything”. Darina Salathova is one of those sorceresses who can make a woman the most charming and attractive. Instead of a magic wand, she uses proven techniques and drugs that work real miracles.

Darina, how did your beauty career start?

My beauty career started in 1993, when I opened my first beauty salon. Two years later, I was already one of the first specialists in Slovakia to deal with permanent make-up.

What is the procedure for permanent lip makeup? How does the client need to prepare?

In recent years, permanent lip makeup has become my favorite procedure. The lips are covered by the mucosa, so it is not easy to cover them evenly without much trauma with pigment. Only healthy and supple lips can be nicely pigmented. Before the procedure, I recommend softening the lips by peeling and applying a thick layer of coconut oil for the night a few days before the procedure.

What is important to pay attention to when choosing a permanent makeup artist? Certificates, photos of works?

Today, there is a wide selection of courses and training at PMU, even the pandemic has caused a new way of learning - online courses. It is already necessary to consider to whom we entrust ourselves, whether it is a truly experienced and renowned lecturer or just some academy that does not care to teach real experts, but only to gain from training. Anyone who decides to have a PMU done, should first find out what experience and references the salon has, resp. an expert we plan to entrust to our hands. We should never run into paid advertising, much more important are the published fresh and especially healed works.

What technique do you use?

In my work I use different techniques of lip pigmentation, it always depends on the type of skin, type and shape of the lips. I most often apply the aquarell technique, because it is very gentle on the mucous membrane, it does not cause excessive swelling or bleeding. If the client wants more pronounced lips, I choose my own "delicious lips" technique, which can be used to achieve the effect of lipstick.

Tell me, how long does the permanent makeup of lips, eyebrows and arrows take to heal?

The healing time of permanent make-up depends, of course, on the chosen technique, on the type of skin, but not least on the customer's home care. The longest to keep the scabs on the eyeliner, about 5-8 days. The eyebrows heal for 4-6 days and the rattles fall off the fastest, ie in 3-4 days. However, falling off the scab does not mean that the permanent is completely healed. After the scab falls off, the upper layer of the skin is also unobtrusively peeled off, which has become thicker due to traumatization and still covers the pigment after the scab falls. This is the reason why it is recommended to make a possible correction only after a month, when the result is already visible.

Darina, what are the most popular procedures among clients?

The most commonly performed procedure is eyebrow PMU. This is mainly due to the fact that the eyebrows form a very important part of the face, it forms its features and expression. If it is missing for some reason (illness, age, bad tearing, etc.) then PMU eyebrows can easily solve this problem. If we are talking about lips, then the question of lip pigmentation is more a matter of comfort and highlighting a nice shape. Pigmentation of eyeliner and shadows is a great help for women who are allergic to makeup or wear glasses and can not put on beautiful make-up because of it.

What inspires you to go forward and be successful?

The biggest inspiration is the satisfied smiles of my clients after the procedure. I really enjoy seeing how permanent makeup changed her, rejuvenated her and made her happy. When a customer comes for a refreshing procedure after a few months to years and is still adorned with the result of my work, it always warms my heart and fills me. In recent years, I have received honors from conference organizers to present my techniques, which is certainly very motivating. I often participate in international competitions in pmu as a judge. Participating in the jury always evokes a great deal of tension and emotion in me, but above all a responsibility towards beginning or even advanced and experienced colleagues. My motto has always been: Progress slowly but surely! :)
